Givenchy Belt Makes U.S. Debut
Michelle Obama visited Unity Health Care's Upper Cardozo Center in Washington yesterday. For the event, she mixed two of her favorite styles: the belted waist and the cropped jacket.

Volunteering in Lanvin + J. Crew
The First Lady continued the United We Serve initiative yesterday in D.C. She wore a Lanvin top to stuff goodie bags for children of military families. We first saw this piece in April under a Maria Cornejo jacket. For the volunteer event, she put a casual spin on it with a J. Crew Jackie cardigan, green cropped pants, and Puma sneakers.
On the way home, Lady O threw on some shades.
Later on, she was festive in a floral dress with lace trim for a luau on the South Lawn of the White House.

West Coast Style
Michelle Obama headed west yesterday to launch the Obama administration's United We Serve initiative. She joined California First Lady Maria Shriver in building a playground at Bret Harte Elementary School in San Francisco. Lady O was practical and pretty in a black cardigan with cropped pants, a printed blouse and Puma sneakers.
Later, the First Lady delivered the keynote address at the National Conference on Volunteering and Service in a sheath dress with all the right details: abstract top, pleated banded waist, and fitted skirt.

Super Tuesday
While everyone in New York lined up to take pictures next to her inauguration dress yesterday, Michelle Obama was taking care of First Lady business.
She delivered the keynote address at the Greater DC Cares luncheon in this black and white tweed coat by Thakoon and the Sonia Rykiel belt she wore in London last week.
Then, Lady O headed over to the White House kitchen garden to pick vegetables that she and students from Bancroft Elementary School planted in March. She changed into a striped tank with coral pants and the Gap floral cardigan she wore for lunch with Nancy Reagan.

Lady O Launches White House Music Series in Style
Michelle Obama was a no-show for her honor at the CFDA Awards last night probably because she was busy working it in D.C. Back from her European vacation, the First Lady kept up the Parisian chic for the launch of the White House music series. She was polished and poised in a white cardigan pinned by an Erickson Beamon floral brooch with an airy blouse peeking underneath. A white pencil skirt and Jimmy Choo shoes kept the look in sync, and no afternoon of jazz is complete without an Azzedine Alaia belt.

All Together Now
IMHO,what Michelle Obama wore in London yesterday was her boldest look yet. Bolder than bare arms, no pantyhose, and wearing a sweater to meet the Queen. Let's break it down.
- a printed belt with a purple buckle
- a tunic with layers of embroidery and applique
- a yellow cardigan
- a lavender cardigan
- layered necklaces
- black pants
- black pointed toe flats
- and a toy watch

First Lady's Surprise Visit to London
While President Obama returned to the U.S. yesterday, the First Lady and the girls made an unannounced trip to London. Here, Michelle Obama is pictured being driven to Downing Street to meet with the prime minister's wife, Sarah Brown.

Weekend Style: France, Part Deux
The First Lady was out and about in Paris today with the Mom and daughters. They visited the Pompidou center where Lady O was spotted in a printed blouse, white cardigan, and decorative low-slung belt.
For shopping, she did a wardrobe change into a beige cardigan and the Tracy Feith "Lei" dress. My favorite part of these looks: the ballerina bun. Tres Parisien!

Weekend Style: France
The First Lady met up with President Obama in France this weekend, and this time she brought along Grandma and the girls. Lady O also included with her a wardrobe that French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, once again, could not touch!
For her visit to the Eiffel Tower on Friday, Michelle Obama embraced the ease of French fashion in a Rick Owens Lilies vest and matching shirt. She accessorized with a Prova scarf for a splash of glam.
Our First Lady continued on the minimalist route for a ceremony at the Prefecture of Caen yesterday in an all-white streamlined silhouette: a Narciso Rodriguez Michael Kors coat over a Michael Kors sheath dress completed by a Givenchy belt and Jimmy Choo Lantern heels. France's First Lady was lovely in Dior, per usual, but there is something more approachable about Lady O. I suggest Bruni-Sarkozy take notes from mystyle.com on how to Shop Her Style.

First Ladies Who Lunch
Michelle Obama went all-American for her lunch with former First Lady Nancy Reagan yesterday. She paired Gap (the striped summer T + the floral summer cardigan) with a white lacquered boucle pencil skirt from Michael Kors' spring 2009 collection.
